Palosi & Collins Named NWC Basketball Student-Athletes of the Week

The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Basketball for the week of January 14th through January 21st.

Women’s Basketball - Student-Athlete of the Week
Madilyn Palosi I G | Lewis & Clark | SO | Thousand Oaks, Calif. | Viewpoint

Palosi averaged 18.67 points per game and knocked down 15 3-pointers during a 2-1 week for Lewis & Clark College. The sophomore reset her collegiate high for points twice and finished in double-digits all three games, while shooting 45.2 percent (19-42) from the field and 51.7 percent (15-29) from distance. On Saturday, Palosi poured in a career and game-high 24 points on 6-8 shooting from distance and added six rebounds to lead Lewis & Clark to a win over the second-place team in the NWC (Puget Sound) 73-67. She added 23 points on Tuesday night and just missed tying the program record for made 3-pointers (eight) in a victory over Northwest Indian College. She played 105 of a possible 120 minutes across three games in five days. For the season, the sophomore leads the entire conference for made 3-pointers (41) and made 3-pointers per game (2.9) and sits third in 3-point field goal percentage (39.4%). 

 
Men’s Basketball - Student-Athlete of the Week
Cade Collins I G | Linfield | SO | Beaverton, Ore. | Jesuit

Collins came to play in Linfield's two games last weekend against Lewis & Clark and Willamette. The sophomore from Beaverton, Ore. led the Wildcats in scoring in both games with 24 against the Pioneers and a career-high 28 against the Bearcats. He also contributed to the rebounding efforts with six in each contest.
