Baker & Phillips Named NWC Basketball Student-Athletes of the Week

The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Basketball for the week of January 7th through January 13th.

Women’s Basketball - Student-Athlete of the Week
Korin Baker I F | Whitman | SR | Waucanda, Wash. | Curlew HS

Baker averaged 22 points and 11 rebounds in two wins against Lewis and Clark and Willamette. The senior forward, who moved into third all-time in scoring at Whitman, had a top performance versus Willamette where she posted game highs of 26 points (11-14) and 14 rebounds. The day before against Lewis & Clark she was near perfect from the field where she shot 6-7 for 18 points and a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line. She also grabbed a game-high seven rebounds.
 
Men’s Basketball - Student-Athlete of the Week
Taj Phillips I PG | Puget Sound | SR | Pleasanton, Calif. | Bishop O'Dow

Phillips scored 29 points against Pacific and netted another 23 against Linfield in the Logger 92-93 win. In the game against Pacific, Phillips surpassed 1000 career points AND is now holds second place on the all-time assists record chart for Puget Sound.
