The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Women’s Volleyball for the week of September 24th through September 30rd.
Volleyball - Offense - Student-Athlete of the Week
Gracie Bearden I OH I George Fox | SO | Sonora, Calif. | Sonora
Bearden had 4.28 kills/set in the Bruins' 2-win weekend with a total of 30 kills. She recorded 15 kills in both Fox's 3-0 win over Willamette and the 3-1 win over Pacific. Those numbers would put her in first in the conference for kills/set, a position she has moved into second for in conference stats.
Volleyball - Defense - Student-Athlete of the Week
Cassidy Franklin I MB I Whitworth | SR | Meridian, Idaho | Mountain View
Franklin had a dominating week at the net on defense. She had nine block assists in a 3-1 win over Whitman on Tuesday, then added five more in a 3-0 win at Linfield on Saturday for a total of 14 blocks in 7 sets, an average of 2.0 blocks per set. In one week she moved from fifth to second in the NWC standings for blocks per set.
