Buese & Hammond Named NWC Women’s Track & Field Student Athletes of the Week

HILLSBORO, Ore. - The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Women’s Track & Field for the week of March 25th through April 1st.

 

Women’s Track - Student-Athlete of the Week
Riley Buese I Lewis & Clark | JR | Denver, Colo.  I Northfield

Buese broke a 25-year Northwest Conference program record in the women's 10K on Friday night at the Stanford Invitational. The junior ran the seventh-fastest time in NCAA DIII this season in the 10K (35:05.73) to finish in 20th place in her heat against a field of all DI and DII student-athletes. She reset her own PR time in the event by 74.71 seconds and broke Dana Boyle's (University of Puget Sound) NWC record in the event by 1.27 seconds.

Ally Hammond I Pacific | SO | Forest Grove, Ore.  | Forest Grove

Saturday at the Pacific Open, Hammond won the women's long jump, breaking her own school record mark of 5.59 meters, which is sixth best in Division III. Hammond also finished runner-up in the 200-meter run in 25.07 seconds, also a Pacific school record and 12th best in D-III.
