Nelson & McNeley Named NWC Softball Student Athletes of the Week

HILLSBORO, Ore. - The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Softball for the week of March 25th through April 1st.
 

Softball - Position - Student-Athlete of the Week
Brynn Nelson I 2B I Linfield | JR | Bonney Lake, Wash. I Bonney Lake

Junior Brynn Nelson started all six games in the Wildcats' 6-0 road trip to California. Nelson paced the Linfield offense with at least two hits and every game and poured in two home runs, nine RBIs, two doubles and 13 hits. Nelson finished the trip with a .722 batting average and helped the Wildcats (20-0) to their best start in program history. The Bonney Lake, Wash., native ranks second in the Northwest Conference in batting average (.534), OPS (1.479), slugging percentage (.879) and hits (31). Nelson also ranks among the leaders in home runs (5), RBIs (20) and runs (16).

Freshman Tyler McNeley's efforts in the circle helped the Wildcats to a 6-0 road trip to California last week. McNeley threw 16.1 innings in three games, tallying two complete games and two shutouts while not surrendering an earned run. She was credited with three wins and finished the week with a 0.00 ERA. The Lakeview, Ore., native ranks among the Northwest Conference leaders in ERA (0.95), wins (7) and complete games (4). The third-ranked Wildcats (20-0) are off to their best start to a season in program history.
