Davis & Dryden Named NWC Baseball Student Athletes of the Week

HILLSBORO, Ore. - The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Baseball for the week of February 12th through February 19th.

 

Baseball- Position - Student-Athlete of the Week
Brennen Davis I CF/P I Lewis & Clark | JR | Encinitas, Calif. | Costa Canyon

Davis racked up a team-high seven hits, seven runs, 10 RBI and four home runs to lead Lewis & Clark to a winning season-opening weekend. The junior center fielder finished the weekend with a slash line of .333/.391/.952 and posted five extra-base hits. He recorded multiple hits in two games and multiple RBI in three contests. On Friday, Davis posted a pair of home runs and three RBI in a 9-3 win over Whittier College. Davis added a pair of two-run homers on Saturday to lead the Pioneers back from 2-0 and 4-2 deficits in a 5-5 (11-inning) tie against the Poets. The junior tacked on a two-run double and a pair of walks on Sunday and pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning in a victory over red-hot Pomona-Pitzer College.

Dryden went 5.0 shutout innings in Whitworth's season-opening 18-2 win at Occidental.  He allowed only two hits and a walk while striking out seven batters to pick up the victory.
