HILLSBORO, ORE.- The Whitworth Pirates lead the 2024 men’s golf midseason poll, as voted on by NWC head coaches. This comes after a close 2nd place finish at the 2023 NWC Fall Classic.
Results of the Fall Classic are as follows: 1st- Whitman (567), 2nd- Whitworth (568), 3rd- Linfield (575), 4th- George Fox (579), 5th- Willamette (586), 6th- Pacific Lutheran (596), 7th- Pacific (600), 8th- Puget Sound (610), 9th- Lewis & Clark (648). At the Fall Classic, Mason Remington of Whitman finished first with a final score of 135. Cade Streeter (Puget Sound) and Jacob Smissen (Linfield) tied for second with a score of 138. The Fall Classic accounts for 25% of the final NWC golf standings.
In the 2024 midseason poll, Whitworth earned 7 first place votes and a total score of 63 points followed closely by Whitman with 2 first place votes and 57 points. Linfield finished 3rd with 47 points while Willamette earned 4th place with 43 points. George Fox placed 5th with 39 points. Sixth place went to Pacific Lutheran with 27 points, followed by Pacific with 23 points. The midseason poll was rounded out by Puget Sound with 17 points and Lewis & Clark with 8 points.
The Northwest Conference Spring Classic takes place on April 7-8th and the NWC Championship Tournament will begin on April 20th.
