The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Men’s Soccer for the week of October 29th through November 4th.
Men’s Soccer- Offense- Student-Athlete of the Week
Cole Friesen I F I Whitworth | JR | Chula Vista, Calif. | Eastlake
Friesen scored four goals and added three assists to lead Whitworth to a pair of road victories at Willamette and Lewis & Clark. He had two goals and two assists in a 7-2 win at Willamette on Saturday, then added two goals and an assist at L&C on Sunday. Along the way, Friesen established new Pirate records for career goals (40) and points (93). He has done that in just over two seasons since he was injured after three matches during his freshman year (2022).
Men’s Soccer- Defense- Student-Athlete of the Week
Alvin Kamau I D I Pacific Lutheran | SO | Nairobi, Kenya | High Mowing School (NH)
Kamau played all 180 minutes over the weekend, helping the Lutes win their second straight NWC title. Kamau scored in Saturday's 3-1 win over Pacific before netting two assists in PLU's 4-0 shutout of George Fox on Sunday. Over the weekend, Kamau was part of a defense that allowed just four total shots on goal.
