Cummings & Tanaka Named NWC Swimming Student-Athletes of the Week

The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Swimming for the week of November 5th through November 11th.

Women’s Swimming - Student-Athlete of the Week
Angie Cummings I Lewis & Clark | SO | Santa Barbara, Calif. | San Marcos

Cummings won all three of her events on Friday night against Pacific. The sophomore swimmer opened the night by swimming the second-fastest time in the conference in the 50 Backstroke. Her time of 29.88 helped her defeat a Boxers swimmer by .01. Cummings added victories in the 100 Free (58.57) and 500 Free (5:45.76) to record 27 points for the Pioneers. 

Men’s Swimming - Student-Athlete of the Week
Tyler Tanaka I Pacific Lutheran | JR | Anatolia, Hawaii | Kapaa

Tanaka won three events as the Lutes picked up a big road dual meet win at Willamette. The junior won the 800 free by over 13 seconds, won the 400 free, and was the top finisher in the 100 IM by over two seconds.
