The Whitworth Pirates have claimed the top position in the Northwest Conference (NWC) Swimming Preseason Poll following their success in capturing the 2023-24 NWC Men’s Swimming Team title. With 64 points and eight first-place votes from the NWC head coaches, the Pirates are positioned as the favorites to defend their title in the upcoming season.
Close behind, the University of Puget Sound secured second place with 54 points. Whitman College followed in third with 51 points and garnered one first-place vote, while Linfield University took fourth with a competitive 45 points. Lewis & Clark College and Pacific Lutheran University shared the fifth spot with 29 points each. Rounding out the standings, Willamette University earned 26 points, George Fox University 18 points, and Pacific University (Ore.) 8 points.
The NWC Men’s Swimming Championship meet is scheduled for February 13-16, 2025, at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Washington. Hosted this season by Pacific Lutheran University, the championship is expected to feature the conference's top talent in a highly competitive showdown for the title.
