The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Football for the week of October 22nd through October 28th.

Football - Offense - Student-Athlete of the Week
Luis Salgado I RB I Whitworth | JR | Kennewick, Wash. | Kamiakin

Salgado ran for 365 yards on 25 carries (14.6 ypc) and broke Whitworth's previous single game school record for rushing yards (303) that had stood since 1998.  He also surpassed the previous single game high in NCAA Division III this season by more than 100 yards.  He led the Pirates to a 39-32 road victory at Pacific (Ore.) by scoring three touchdowns, including a 79-yard touchdown run that is now the longest of his career.

Football - Defense- Student-Athlete of the Week
Noah Tack I LB I George Fox | SR | Parker, Colo. | Lutheran

Tack put together a career performance, leading the George Fox defense in dominating fashion in their 28-7 win over Willamette. The fifth-year senior accumulated nine total tackles, with five TFL's for 32 yards. Four of those tackles for loss were sacks, setting a new GFU single game record.  Two of Tack's sacks were in critical situations, with Willamette getting the ball on the GFU 5 yard line after an interception. The two sacks forced a Willamette field goal, which was ultimately blocked. Thanks to the linebacker's efforts, the Fox defense shut down the Willamette offense, not allowing an offensive point and giving up just 75 total yards on the day, with seven sacks, three interceptions, and one total rushing yard.

Football - Special Teams - Student-Athlete of the Week
Cole Sargent I K I Pacific Lutheran | SR | Edmonds, Wash. | Meadowdale

Sargent was a perfect four-for-four on extra points while also hitting a 36-yard field goal. His 10 points played a key role in the Lutes' 31-28 road win over Lewis & Clark. Sargent had six kickoffs as well, including one touchback.
