Toole & Sweet Named NWC Golf Student Athletes of the Week

The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Golf for the week of October 15th through October 22nd.

Women’s Golf - Student-Athlete of the Week
Makensie Toole I George Fox | 5th | Newcastle, NSW, Australia | Belmont Christian

Toole took first place overall in the weekend's Confluence Classic. For the tournament, the fifth-year senior totaled six birdies to just four bogeys to take home the medalist finish. Toole had a total of 142 (-2) for the weekend to help the No. 4 Bruins beat out No. 3 Pomona-Pitzer and seven other NWC teams to win the event.

Men’s Golf - Student-Athlete of the Week
Ben Sweet I Whitman | Jr | Sequim, Wash.| Sequim

Sweet finished  second overall at the Confluence Classic, just one stroke behind the medalist. His stellar performance included 11 birdies, giving him a total of 139 (-5). Sweet, along with teammate Grady Brown, led the Whitman Blues through a tight contest against Pomona-Pitzer. The Blues ended the first day at even par, one stroke ahead of the Sagehens. They repeated the one-stroke advantage on day two, securing the tournament victory by a narrow two-stroke margin.
