George Fox Women Claim Victory at 2024 NWC Fall Classic

Woodburn, Oregon – The Northwest Conference (NWC) Men’s and Women’s Golf Fall Classic concluded Monday afternoon at the OGA Golf Course, with the George Fox Bruins claiming the women’s team title. 

George Fox held their first place position after day one, and after day two they finished the tournament at five-above-par with a combined score of 296+285=581. The Whitman Blues placed second with a total score of 315+307=622, while the Whitworth Pirates finished close behind in third at 317+318=635. 

Pacific (Ore.) placed fourth with a score of 319+323=642, followed by Pacific Lutheran in fifth at 340+346=686. Rounding out the final standings were Lewis & Clark (693), Puget Sound (708), and Linfield (738). Willamette did not compete with a full team. 

In individual play, George Fox’s Alison Takamiya held her lead from the first round to win the 2024 NWC Fall Classic individual medalist title. Takamiya shot an impressive 71+70=141, finishing 3-under-par. Makensie Toole of George Fox brought home second place honors with a score of 73+70=143, while Pacific’s Bead Boonta finished third with an even score of 73+73=146. George Fox’s Liana Brown scored 74+73=147 placing fourth, and Ellena Jeong of Whitman finished fifth with a score of 73+78=151. 

The NWC Fall Classic marks the first of three major tournaments that will determine the overall conference champion for the 2024-2025 season.
