Women’s Basketball- Student-Athlete of the Week
Korin Baker I Forward I Whitman | SR | Wauconda, Wash. | Curlew
Baker helped Whitman to a 2-0 week, delivering a monster performance at Whitworth where she recorded 26 points and 14 rebounds. Both totals were the second most of any NWC player during conference play. During the Whitworth game, she recorded her 1,000th career point. Against Lewis & Clark, she scored a game-high 21 points in Whitman's largest margin of victory this season. She also grabbed eight rebounds and posted a game-high three blocks.
Men’s Basketball- Student-Athlete of the Week
Josiah Frank I Guard I Willamette | JR | Turlock, Calif | John H. Pitman
Frank scored 56 points (28.0 average) in Willamette's two games, as the Bearcats defeated Linfield and Pacific Lutheran. He earned 21 points in an 83-60 win against Linfield and then produced a career-high 35 points in an 85-82 victory at Pacific Lutheran. He was 20 of 30 on field goals during the week (66.7%), including 6 of 7 on 3-pointers. He was a perfect 10 for 10 at the free throw line. He also earned 9 rebounds (4.5 avg.), 3 steals (1.5 avg.), and 2 assists (1.0 avg.) during the week.
