Cadien & Hetzler Named NWC Volleyball Student-Athletes of the Week

HILLSBORO, Ore. - The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Women’s Volleyball for the week of August 28th through September 5th.

Women’s Volleyball- Offense- Student-Athlete of the Week
Olivia Cadien I Outside Hitter I Willamette | Mesa, Ariz. | Chandler Preparatory Academy

Cadien was named to the All-Tournament Team at the 2023 UC Santa Cruz Slugfest after averaging 4.4 kills per set and leading Willamette to a 2-1 record. She registered 53 kills, including a high of 22 kills against Hamline. During the tournament, Cadien also provided 17 digs and 6 service aces. Against Hamline, she earned 4 service aces to help Willamette set a school record with 19 team service aces. 
 

Women’s Volleyball- Defense- Student-Athlete of the Week
Halle Hetzler I Libero I Pacific Lutheran | SR | Kailua, Hawaii | Le Jardin Academy

The reigning NWC Player of the Year and NWC Libero of the Year eclipsed 2,000 career digs over the weekend (already the school record holder). The senior averaged 6.9 digs per set and tallied six aces over four matches at the Puget Sound Premiere. Hetzler ranks 2nd in the nation in total digs and 7th nationally in digs per set.
