Binning, Waters, and Dirnberger Named NWC Football Student-Athletes of the Week

HILLSBORO, Ore. - The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Football for the week of August 28th through September 5th.

Football- Offense- Student-Athlete of the Week
Mason Binning I QB I Puget Sound | JR | Bellingham, Wash. | Squalicum

Binning, went 23/36 for 258 yards and 3 TDs through the air, rushing 8 times for 51 yards and two touchdowns, scoring 3 TDs in the fourth quarter to help UPS come back and beat Lewis & Clark, 42-38.

 

Football- Defense- Student-Athlete of the Week
Landon Waters I Corner Back I Willamette | JR | Martinez, Calif. | Alhambra

Waters intercepted two passes and returned one of them for a touchdown in Willamette's 24-21 victory at La Verne. He returned the first interception 35 yards from the WU 3 to the WU 28. The play led to a field goal. Waters returned the second pick-off 30 yards for a touchdown, giving WU a 17-14 lead midway through the second quarter after trailing 14-0. Waters also registered two unassisted tackles and broke up one pass.

 

Football- Special Teams- Student-Athlete of the Week
Camdin Dirnberger I K I PK | JR | Missoula, Mont. | Sentinel

Camdin Dirnberger kicked a 30-yard field goal early in the second quarter to start Willamette's comeback from a 14-0 deficit for a 24-21 win. Dirnberger also went 3 for 3 on extra points and averaged 55.8 yards on 5 kickoffs.
