Women’s Golf- Student-Athlete of the Week
Ellena Jeong I Whitman | FR | Incheon, South Korea | Chadwick International School
The Whitman women won the PLU Invitational title. Jeong fired a scorching 72 on day one and finished three over 147 for the tournament to win the title. Her even-par day one featured a round with 2 birdies and only two bogeys, including hitting 15 green in regulations. Going into round two with a 5 shot lead, she turned the front nine in 40, and bounced back with a 1-under par 35 on the back 9 to secure her first collegiate victory.
Men’s Golf- Student-Athlete of the Week
Marcus Otto I Pacific Lutheran | FR | Helsingborg, Sweden
Otto won his first career tournament on Monday, battling soggy conditions to win the PLU Invitational. Otto shot a three-under 142 (73-68), including a chip in birdie on the final hole to take medalist honors. Otto was three strokes better than the next best NWC golfer at the tournament and helped the Lutes finish second as a team at the 11-team invite.
