HILLSBORO, ORE.- The Puget Sound Loggers earned 62 points to take the top seed heading into the 2023 volleyball season, as voted on by NWC head coaches. The Loggers received six first place votes after sharing the title of Northwest Conference Champions in 2022 with Whitworth. Pacific Lutheran earned 53 points and one first place vote to come in second, followed closely by Whitworth with 51 points and two first place votes.
George Fox and Pacific (Ore.) tied for the fourth place spot, each earning 38 points. Willamette ranked sixth with 34 points, followed by Whitman with 23. Linfield (17) and Lewis & Clark (8) round out the poll.
The 2023 season will hold the first Northwest Conference post season Women’s Volleyball Tournament. The top four teams following regular season play will advance to the Conference Championships. The tournament will be held at the #1 seed November 10-11th. The tournament champion will receive the Northwest Conference’s AQ into the NCAA tournament.
Conference play will begin September 13th.
