HILLSBORO, Ore. - The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Baseball for the week of April 3rd through 10th.
Baseball- Position Student-Athlete of the Week
Jakob Ghammachi I Lewis & Clark College | JR | DH I Redondo Beach, Calif. | South
Ghammachi hit .467 with a 1.133 slugging percentage to lead Lewis & Clark to their first Northwest Conference series win over Willamette since 2007. The junior DH went 7-15 on the week with four runs, and five RBI. He bashed three home runs and added one double and two stolen bases. Ghammachi hit safely in all four games this week and went 5-8 with three homers and five RBI in a doubleheader sweep over the Bearcats on Saturday.
Baseball- Pitcher Student-Athlete of the Week
Davis Franklin I University of Puget Sound | P I SO | Sammamish, Wash. | Bellevue Christian
Franklin struck out a career-high 12 batters at Lewis & Clark. Following that victory, he became the NCAA D-III leader for wins this season.
