Takamiya & Borck Named NWC Golf Student Athletes of the Week

HILLSBORO, Ore. - The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in golf for the week of March 21th through 29th. 

 

Women’s Golf Student-Athlete of the Week

Alison Takamiya I George Fox University | JR | Honolulu, Hawai’i | Punahou

Takamiya was the pillar of consistency at Fox's Tuesday duel match against #14 Williams, recording 15 pars on the day shooting a one-over 74. Playing at the same course that the NCAA Championships will take place (El Campeon GC in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.) the junior recorded one birdie and two bogeys to go alongside her 15 pars, tying for the medalist position with fellow Bruin Makensie Toole.

 

Men’s Golf Student-Athlete of the Week

Brenden Borck I George Fox University | SO | Camarillo, Calif. | Oaks Christian

Brenden helped the Bruins' men's golf team rise from a fifth place spot after day one to a third place finish at the Puget Sound Invitational. Borck finished third overall, the highest finishing conference player out of seven other NWC teams. The sophomore finished even par for the tournament, shooting a two-under 69 on the second day.
