HILLSBORO, Ore. - The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in golf for the week of March 15th through 21th.
Women’s Golf Student-Athlete of the Week
Kaila Bonawitz I University of Puget Sound | SO
Bonawitz placed third overall in the Willamette Valley Cup. She shot an 84 in the first round followed by a 92 in the second round.
Men’s Golf Student-Athlete of the Week
Andrew Kibbee I Willamette University| GR | Kenmore, Wash.| Bothell
Kibbee tied for first place in the individual standings at the Willamette Valley Cup, hosted by Willamette at Creekside Golf Club in Salem, Oregon. Kibbee carded rounds of 69 and 70 for a 36-hole total of 5-under par 139. He was one of the last golfers to begin play in the second round on Sunday, so he faced some of the worst conditions on the course due to the rain. He officially took second place after Jackson Muramoto of Bushnell University won a scorecard playoff since it was too dark to have a playoff on the course.
