DeLuca & Davis Named NWC Softball Student Athletes of the Week

HILLSBORO, Ore. - The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in softball for the week of February 6th through 13th.

 

Softball- Position Student-Athlete of the Week

Marykate DeLuca I Willamette University| SR | San Diego, Calif.| San Diego International Studies

DeLuca helped Willamette earn a 3-1 record over the weekend, as she provided a .667 batting average (8 of 12) with 3 runs and 11 RBI. She had two hits in all four games, and produced at least two RBIs per game. She also hit 5 doubles and 1 home run along with 3 walks. In the first game against Bushnell on Saturday, she had all 4 of Willamette's RBIs. In the first game against Warner Pacific on Saturday, she was credited with 3 RBIs.

 

Softball- Pitcher Student-Athlete of the Week

Kenna Davis I Willamette University | SO | P| Alameda, Calif. | Alameda

Davis went 2-0 in the circle with a 0.58 earned run average. She allowed just one run, while recording 10 strikeouts (5 per game) and giving up just one walk. She led Willamette to an 8-1 win over Warner Pacific and an 8-0 win over Bushnell (5 innings, run rule). In the game against Bushnell, she limited the Beacons to four hits in the shutout after holding Warner Pacific to eight hits and one run.
