Women’s Basketball- Student-Athlete of the Week
Elyse Waldal I Forward I Willamette | JR | Snohomish, Wash. | Glacier Peak
Waldal averaged 18.5 points per game as Willamette defeated Whitworth and #17 Whitman on the road. She also provided 4.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 0.5 steals per game. Against Whitworth, she scored 19 points to go with 3 rebounds and 3 assists. At Whitman, in a 66-61 win, she earned 18 points, 6 rebounds and 1 steal. She hit a 3-pointer with 1:12 left to give Willamette a 62-57 lead against the Blues. For the week, Waldal was 15 for 29 on field goals, 5 for 12 on 3-pointers and 2 for 3 at the line.
Men’s Basketball- Student-Athlete of the Week
Aidan Price I Guard I George Fox | FR | Phoenix, Ariz. | Mountain Pointe
Price showed out in his first two career Northwest Conference games, averaging 24.5 points on an otherworldly 84% shooting clip in a 2-0 week for the Bruins. In Fox's 91-84 win over Lewis & Clark, the freshman put up 21 points, shooting 10-12 from the field — including 2-2 from deep —and pulling in five rebounds in just 18 minutes of work. The next day, Fox took down Puget Sound, 98-77, where Price scored a career-high 26 points on an 11-13 performance from the field. In addition to his scoring, the freshman averaged 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals in the two wins as George Fox jumped out to their best start in a season (6-2) since 2018.
