Washington, Muñoz & Hoang Named NWC Football Student Athletes of the Week

HILLSBORO, Ore. - The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Football for the week of October 30th through November 6th.

Football- Offense- Student-Athlete of the Week
Elijah Washington I Running Back I Lewis & Clark | SR | Pasadena, Calif. | Glendale CC

Washington tied the program record with five (non-passing) touchdowns in Lewis & Clark's 66-24 rout of Puget Sound on Senior Night. The senior scored the Pioneers first three touchdowns of the game in a 6:49 span and added two touchdowns in the third quarter to become the fourth Lewis & Clark player to score five touchdowns in a game. He racked up 18 rushes for 169 yards (9.4 yards per carry) and four rushing touchdowns and tacked on two catches for 19 yards and one receiving touchdown. Washington ended the game with 202 all-purpose yards. 

 

Football- Defense- Student-Athlete of the Week
JT Muñoz I DE I Whitworth | JR | Pasco, Wash. | Chiawana

JT was hugely impactful in Whitworth's win over George Fox.  He had two sacks for 13 yards and finished with 2.5 tackles for loss among his seven total tackles.  He forced a fumble and broke up a pass as Whitworth held George Fox to 13 points after the Bruins had totaled 98 in their previous two wins.  


Football- Special Teams- Student-Athlete of the Week
Thien Hoang I K | Lewis & Clark | FR | Portland, Ore. | Lincoln

Hoang racked up a career-high 12 points to set the program-record for points in a single-season by a kicker (61) in the Pioneers Senior Day win over Puget Sound. He connected on a 36-yard field goal and tied the program record by going 9-9 on PATs. His nine field goals this season are tied for the third-most in a single-season by a Lewis & Clark kicker.
