HILLSBORO, Ore. - The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Swimming for the week of October 30th through November 6th.
Women’s Swimming- Student-Athlete of the Week
Jessica Ordaz I Pacific Lutheran | SR | Los Angeles, Calif. | Alliance Env. Science & Tech
Ordaz won six events over the weekend and owns the top time in the NWC in three of those events. Ordaz scored 29 points in the Lutes' 1-point win over Willamette on Friday, winning the 50 free, 100 fly, and 200 free relay. The following day the senior won the 200 free, 100 free, and 400 free relay in a win over Lewis & Clark. The senior's performance comes after taking the entire 2022-2023 season off.
Ordaz owns the top times in the NWC in the 50 free, 100 fly, and 200 free.
Men’s Swimming- Student-Athlete of the Week
Tyler Tanaka I Pacific Lutheran | SO | Anatolia, Hawaii | Kapaa
Tanaka won six events over the weekend, scoring 58 total points in a pair of dual meet wins. The sophomore won the 200-yard medley relay and the 100-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle in a season opening win over Willamette before winning the 500-yard freestyle, 1,000-yard freestyle and 400-yard free relay on Saturday against Lewis & Clark.
Tanaka currently owns the fastest 500 free time in the NWC and the second best time in the 1000 free.
