Binning, Davis-White & Dalziel Named NWC Football Student Athletes of the Week

HILLSBORO, Ore. - The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Football for the week of October 2nd through October 9th.

Football- Offense- Student-Athlete of the Week
Mason Binning I QB I Puget Sound | JR | Bellingham, Wash.  | Squalicum

Binning threw for a career-high 416 yards and completed 41 passes in a thrilling 29-27 victory against George Fox. With just 32 seconds remaining on the clock and trailing by one point following a timeout by George Fox, the Loggers put the game in Binning's capable hands. He connected with Izaiah Jerenz for a crucial completion, advancing the team to the 25-yard line before stepping out of bounds. Binning's swift and precise plays paved the way for the Loggers to attempt a game-winning field goal in the waning seconds of regulation against George Fox. Binning's fast plays all led to the Loggers attempting a game-winning field goal against George Fox in the last second of regulation. 


Football- Defense- Student-Athlete of the Week
Kalen Davis-White I LB I Pacific Lutheran | SR | Hilo, Hawaii | Hilo

Davis-White had 15 tackles, 2 TFLs, a pass breakup and a hurry in the Lutes' 17-10 homecoming win over Pacific. Davis-White was part of a defense that posted a second half shutout and limited the Boxers potent rushing attack to just 92 yards on the day. 

 

Football- Special Teams- Student-Athlete of the Week
Gavin Dalziel l I K | Linfield | JR | Brier, Wash. | Shorecrest

Junior Gavin Dalziel went 6-8 on extra point attempts and converted his only field goal in Linfield's 57-15 victory over Lewis & Clark. Dalziel's 43-yard field goal is his second-longest make on the season and he also totaled 441 kickoff yards on 10 attempts.
