Men’s Soccer- Offense- Student-Athlete of the Week
Cole Friesen I F I Whitworth | SO | Chula Vista, Calif.| Eastlake
Friesen only played one match over the weekend, but made the most of it. He scored three goals and added two assists in Whitworth's 6-2 win over defending NWC Champion Willamette. It was his third hat trick of the season and in the process he broke Whitworth's single-season record for goals (22) with two matches still to play this season. His eight total points in one match is the third-highest total in Pirate history. He leads the NWC in goals (22), goals per match (1.29) and points per match (2.88).
Men’s Soccer- Defense- Student-Athlete of the Week
Alex White I D I Pacific Lutheran | SR | Henderson, Nev. | Coronado
White was part of a stingy defense that allowed three shots all weekend in a pair of shutouts to win the NWC title. White also had a goal and an assist in a 5-0 win over Lewis & Clark. The Lutes allowed just three shots in a 6-0 win over Pacific while allowing no shots in a 5-0 win over L&C on senior day to claim the league title.
