HILLSBORO, Ore. - The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in Golf for the week of October 16th through October 24th.
Women’s Golf- Student-Athlete of the Week
Alison Takamiya I George Fox | SR | Honolulu, Hawaii | Punahou
Takamiya was co-medalist alongside teammate Makensie Toole at the Confluence Classic in Walla Walla, Wash.. The senior posted scores of 71 at Veteran Memorial GC and 73 at Wine Valley GC, recording six birdies over the two rounds to finish at an even-par 144 for the tournament. Takamiya and Toole finished six strokes ahead of their nearest competitors and eight strokes ahead of the nearest NWC opponent. Thanks to both of the captains' performances, the Bruins won the Confluence Classic by 28 strokes.

Toole was co-medalist alongside teammate Alison Takamiya at the Confluence Classic in Walla Walla, Wash.. The senior posted scores of 74 at Veteran Memorial GC and 70 at Wine Valley GC, recording seven birdies over the two rounds to finish at an even-par 144 for the tournament. Takamiya and Toole finished six strokes ahead of their nearest competitors and eight strokes ahead of the nearest NWC opponent. Thanks to both of the captains' performances, the Bruins won the Confluence Classic by 28 strokes.
Men’s Golf- Student-Athlete of the Week
Marcus Otto I Pacific Lutheran | FR | Helsingborg, Sweden
Otto finished Second at the Confluence Classic with rounds of 72 (E) and 70 (-2) for a 142 (-2) total. Otto finished two shots back of the leader as he made 10 total birdies over two rounds, including five in the final round to get within one stroke heading to the final hole. The Freshman led the Lutes to a third-place finish in the tournament and also holds the best scoring average for the Lutes with a 72.62 (+0.62) average through eight competitive rounds in the Fall season.
