Kelley & McGrath Named NWC Softball Student-Athletes of the Week

HILLSBORO, Ore. - The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in softball for the week of April 11th to April 17th.
 
Softball - Pitcher Student-Athlete of the Week
Tayah Kelley | Linfield | JR | P | Myrtle Creek, OR | South Umpqua
Kelley earned two wins this weekend in blowout victories over Pacific, striking out a combined 19 batters. In a six-inning 8-0 win in the opener, Kelley allowed just one hit while striking out 10. It was the ninth time this season that she struck out 10 or more batters. In a 15-2 win in Game 3, she gave up two earned runs on three hits with nine Ks. Kelley is 20-3 on the season with a 1.16 ERA and 201 strikeouts. The Wildcats won their 15th NWC regular season title and will host the conference tournament as the No. 1 seed.
 
Softball - Position Student-Athlete of the Week
Erin McGrath | Pacific Lutheran | SR | RF | Woodinville, WA | Woodinville
Had three home runs and hit .429 at the plate as the Lutes extended their win streak to nine with a series sweep of Puget Sound. McGrath finished the weekend with six RBIs and scored four runs. McGrath blasted her 14th home run of the season during the series, tying a single season school record. The senior leads the NWC in OPS, runs scored, HRs, RBIs, total bases, and slugging percentage.
