HILLSBORO, Ore. - The Northwest Conference is proud to announce its Student-Athletes of the Week in softball for the week of February 21st to February 27th.
Softball - Pitcher Student-Athlete of the Week
Tayah Kelley | Linfield | JR | P | Myrtle Creek, OR | South Umpqua
Kelley threw two complete-game shutouts and struck out a combined 15 batters to improve to 4-0 in the circle. She tossed all seven innings in Friday's 4-0 win over Willamette, allowing just two hits while striking out eight. She came back on Saturday and gave up three hits while striking out seven in a five-inning 8-0 win.
Softball - Position Student-Athlete of the Week
Erin McGrath | Pacific Lutheran | SR | OF | Woodinville, WA | Woodinville
Helped the Lutes win five of their six games during the week, including winning three of four in the NWC opener against Whitworth. McGrath had 13 RBIs, six extra-base hits, and four home runs, with three of her HR blasts coming against Whitworth. Also scored eight runs. Finished with a .400 batting average, .455 on-base percentage, and a 1.100 slugging percentage.
