HILLSBORO, Ore. – The Northwest Conference is proud to announce Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of September 17th to September 23rd.

Men's Golf Student-Athlete of the Week – Joshua Lackey, George Fox (Jr.)

Lackey (Puyallup, Wash.) finished two-under to claim the medalist honor at the Linfield Invitational, helping his team to capture the team win as well. The junior finished first in a field of NWC and NAIA competitors.

Women's Golf Student-Athlete of the Week - Hannah Roh, Whitman (Sr.)

Roh (Edmunds, Wash.) helped guide her team to a first place finish at the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Linfield. The senior finished second overall and first among NWC competitors.

Men's Soccer Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week – Mason Kelliher, Willamette (Sr., GK)

Kelliher (Wellington, New Zealand) recorded two complete-game shutouts over the weekend for a 0.00 GAA, as Willamette defeated Pacific 4-0 and downed George Fox 2-0. He controlled the 18-yard box, was a key participant in Willamette's defensive possession with many touches on the ball, and registered a total of 3 saves. This season, Kelliher has a 0.67 GAA, four solo shutouts and one shared shutout.

Men's Soccer Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week – Zak Gregg, Pacific Lutheran (Fr.)

Gregg (Federal Way, Wash.) scored three goals over the weekend, helping the Lutes win two road games by a combined 8-1 scoreline. Gregg currently leads the NWC in both goals scored (9) and points (19).

Women's Soccer Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week – Emma Hunter, Pacific Lutheran (Jr., D)

Hunter (Portland, Ore.) anchored a defensive unit that pitched two road shutouts over the weekend and allowed just four total shots, including just two shots on goal all weekend as the Lutes defeated conference opponents Lewis & Clark and Pacific (Ore.).

Women's Soccer Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week – Meghan Michels, Pacific Lutheran (Fr., F)

Michels (Medford, Ore.) scored the game winning goal against L&C on Saturday before collecting a goal and two assists in a 4-0 road win over Pacific. Michels has now scored in four consecutive games and leads the NWC in pints (12) and goals (5).

Men's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week – Will Leach, George Fox (So.)

Leach (Portland, Ore.) Leach successfully defended his 2018 singles title with a three-set win over Ben Kirsch of Whitman (6-2, 4-6, 6-1). The victory makes him an ITA All-American for the second straight season and guarantees him a trip to Rome, Ga., for the ITA Oracle Cup. This is the fourth straight year that GFU has won the ITA Regional Championship singles title

Volleyball Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week – Halle Hetzler, Pacific Lutheran (Fr., LB)

Hezler (Kailua, Hawaii) Led the Lutes in digs in a weekend road sweep, averaging 5.57 digs per set with a total of 39 in two road wins against George Fox and Linfield.

Volleyball Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week -  Emiko Kahler, Whitworth (Sr., OH)

Kahler (Happy Valley, Ore.) led Whitworth offensively to a pair of wins over Whitman and Pacific (Ore.). She averaged 3.86 kills per set and scored a total of 29.5 points in the two matches. She added 4.57 digs per set. The Pirates took over sole possession of first place in the NWC standings with the two wins.
