Women's 6K Race

Whitworth finished second with 109 pts, behind Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (58 pts.) to earn a trip to the NCAA Division III Championship at the North Farm Facility in Elsah, Ill.  Whitworth's Kayla Leland was third with a time of 21:41.51, while Willamette's Hannah Swanson (6th, 21:57.52) and Linfield's Courtney Beard (7th, 22:05.03 and Kaelia Neal (8th, 22:05.02) round out the top 10. Swanson, Beard, Neal and Linfield's Emma Knudson all earn individual bids to the NCAA Championship.  The NCAA takes the top two teams and the next seven individuals not on the two qualifying team to the NCAA meet.   Linfield finished third with 129 pts, just missing a bid to the NCAA race.  The Wildcats were followed by Whitman (7th, 223 pts.), Puget Sound (8th, 229 pts.), George Fox (10th, 249 pts.) and Willamette (11th, 291 pts.) in the women's race.

Men's 8K Race

Pacific Lutheran had the highest finish for the NWC at the NCAA Men's West Regional race this morning.  The Lutes were fifth with 209 pts, followed by Willamette (6th, 215), Lewis & Clark (7th, 224) and Whitworth (8th, 236).  Pacific Lutheran's Brad Hodkinson finished second with a time of 25:05.64, Whitman's Eli Fournier was 10th with a time of 25:39.56, while Willamette's Keith Carlson was 15th with a time of 25:52.52.   Hodkison, Fournier and Carlson each earn a trip to the NCAA men's meet.  The regional sends its top two teams from the men's and women's meets as automatic qualifiers (AQ) to nationals. The top seven individuals not already part of an AQ team also earn berths into the meet.

Linfield - CLAREMONT, Calif. – Linfield's women fought to a third-place finish as the men finished 16th Saturday at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Regional Championships, contested at Blanchard Park.  Courtney Beard and Kaelia Neal finished 7th and 8th overall with Emma Knudson crossing the line in 11th while Senior Jeff Lee ended his final season finishing 31st in the men's race. Whitman - POMONA, Calif.  Whitman's cross country teams enjoyed phenomenal results Saturday at the NCAA Division III West Regional Championship, as all-region sophomore Eli Fournier finished 10th in the men's race to earn a bid into the D-III national meet and all-region sophomore Whitney Rich helped the Blues women to a seventh-place team finish.  Fournier becomes the first male runner from Whitman to qualify for nationals since the 2002 season.  Complete Story

Whitworth - CLAREMONT, Calif. – Kayla Leland's third place finish paced the Whitworth women to a second place finish at the NCAA Division III West Regional on Saturday morning. The Pirates second place result means they advance to the NCAA Division III Championships on November 18 in Elsah, Ill. Willamette - CLAREMONT, Calif. -- Willamette University runners Hannah Swanson (Sr., Seattle, WA/Roosevelt HS) and Keith Carlson (Jr., Bainbridge Island, WA/Bainbridge HS) earned indiivdual bids to the 2017 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships with quality finishes at the NCAA West Regional on Saturday, Nov. 11.
