KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Nine Northwest Conference women's soccer players were honored by the United Soccer Coaches on Tuesday by being named as All-West Region honorees, including Pacific Lutheran's Machaela Graddy and Willamette's Emmy Manset, who were named as First Team All-West Region selections.
Graddy (Sr., Eatonville, Wash.), the 2017 Northwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year, earned first team all-region honors for the third time in her collegiate career after scoring 12 goals and assisting on nine goals for the NWC champion Lutes.
Manset (Sr., Ventura, Calif.), a First Team All-NWC selection in 2017, earned First Team All-West Region honors for the first time in her career. Manset became the fourth Bearcat to earn All-West Region status since 2008 after a 13 goal, two assist showing in 2017.
The Northwest Conference was represented on the second team by: Puget Sound defender Emily Prasil (Sr., Lake Oswego, Ore.), Puget Sound midfielder Tayla MacPherson (So., Seattle, Wash.) and Pacific Lutheran midfielder Hailey Smoot (Sr., Puyallup, Wash.).
NWC Defensive Player of the Year, goalkeeper Jamie Lange (So., Lake Tapps, Wash.) of Puget Sound and the NWC Freshman of the Year, defender Michayla Sponsel (Fr., Portland, Ore.) of Linfield earned Third Team All-West Region recognition.
Joining Lange and Sponsel on the third team were: Whitworth midfielder Kathryn Bischoff (Sr., Spokane, Wash.) and Pacific Lutheran forward Leah Magee (So., Olympia, Wash.).
