NWC Swimming Student-Athlete of the Week for January 9-15
Amanda Clark
Pacific, Freshman
Olympia, Wash./Capital
Clark continued her record-setting year by winning all
six individual events, becoming the first woman swimmer in Pacific
history to break the 2-minute barrier in the 200 Freestyle (1:59.99
vs. PLU). Making the record even more impressive, Clark had swum
the 1000 Free in the previous event, winning in 11:04.28 for a rare
double. On Friday vs. Puget Sound, Clark broke 18-minutes in the
1650 Yard Freestyle (17:58.68) for the second time this season,
while also winning the 100 and 500 Free at the same meet. The only
NWC swimmer to swim a sub-18 in the mile this year, Clark has set
Pacific records in the 200, 500, 1000 and 1650 Freestyle events
this season.
