Friday's Men's Tennis Recap

George Fox 6, Willamette 3
Joshua Wong (Sr., Hilo, HI/Hilo HS) of Willamette University continued his success at #1 singles and #1 doubles, but George Fox University gained wins at five of the singles positions to defeat the Bearcats, 6-3, on Friday, March 1 at the Courthouse Tennis Center.

Pacific (Ore.) 9, Linfield 0
Turning back Linfield at every opportunity, the Pacific Boxers rolled to an impressive 9-0 victory over their Northwest Conference counterparts Friday afternoon at the Linfield Tennis Center.

Whitman 9, Puget Sound 0
The 13th-ranked Whitman men's tennis team started March off right, today, with a 9-0 sweep of the UPS Loggers this Friday afternoon. After several days of cold weather to end February, March brought a warm front with it to provide the Whits the extra advantage of playing on their outdoor courts. The men's tennis team hasn't lost a match on their outdoor courts since a 1-6 loss to Montana in February of 2009, and the Loggers were not about to buck the trend today.

Lewis-Clark St. 8, Whitworth 1
Lewis-Clark State swept all six singles matches on the way to an 8-1 win over Whitworth in a non-conference men's tennis match on Friday evening at the Scotford Tennis Center.
