NWC Student-Athlete of the Week - Pitcher (Feb. 4 - Feb. 10)

After missing all of last season due to treatment for cancer, Max made his return to the PLU team with two wins, 10 shutout innings and 14 strikeouts. He got the win over Concordia (Ore.) despite pitching only two innings because of the college rule that allows a coach to declare an under-five-inning outing. He left the game with a 2-0 lead after the pre-determined two innings. He then shut down 16th-ranked Concordia (Texas) on five hits with 12 Ks in eight innings.
